Have you ever heard of “TOXIC SOUP??”
Toxic Soup is an educational presentation for youth about Tobacco and Smoking. We share facts, myths, and some “ingredients” which are the chemicals that are in cigarettes. We explain the name of the “ingredient” and the cautions of the “ingredient”. We hand out tests which we call “Appetizers” to see how much youth already know about tobacco smoke and the dangers. Then we give out more info about tobacco smoke that maybe they didn’t know. We hand out “Taste” cards to a select number of youth and they read the question and we answer it for them if they don’t know the answer. “Factoid” cards are some facts about smoking and how it can be harmful to your body. We usually come across youth who are shocked to know half of the things that are in cigarettes. We encourage youth to stop and think of the dangers tobacco smoke can cause to your body. Towards the end of the presentation we hand out “Desserts” which is a hand out to see how much they know after going through the presentation.
